Sending files

The easiest way to send artwork to us is by email to info@stroudprint.co.uk Please don’t use any other address unless we have made a specific request.

Our preference is for print quality PDF files, but we can work with many other formats. Get in touch with us if you are unsure of the best format to use.

Send files as attachments; don’t embed an image into the body of an email. Beware that some email programs may automatically reduce file size when sending images. This can reduce the resolution of your images and make them unprintable. Look for the setting “send at original size”, or use one of the methods recommended for large files, below.

Our email system is configured to accept attachments up to 25Mb, but you may have restrictions on the size of files you can send. If the file(s) you want to send is over 10Mb or so, use one of the methods in the next section.

Large files

If you want to reduce file size, or have a number of files that need to be grouped together, make a ZIP archive. But note that most JPEG images and properly-made PDF files will not be significantly smaller after “zipping”.

If your files are still too big to send by email, or you just want a simple method of sending a number of files, we recommend using our WeTransfer channel: stroudprint.wetransfer.com

This is fairly straightforward to use, but if you have any problems, give us a call on 01453 764251.

You can also use one of the other file transfer or cloud storage systems, such as Dropbox, but check with us first to establish the best way to do this.

Failing all this, put the files on to  memory stick and bring them along, or post them to us. Sometimes the simplest methods are the best!

If you are familiar with FTP file transfers, we can provide you with the login details for our own FTP server. Please call us if you want to use this.
